A part of the complex has not been completed yet but the other part is accessible to Visitors since building works have been carried out in a progressive manner. The number of rooms available increases gradually: ( 302 ) rooms are currently available and ( 110 ) rooms more are due to be available in a few months' time, that is ( 412 ) rooms. All the rooms are quite large - between 51 sq. m. and 62 sq. m. A B C Next to the resort, Cataract is going to develop another area of about 52,000 sq. m.Buildings are regular in shape but their aspect is varied.Further more, the resort consists of one: storied, two-storied, three-strayed buildings.Lay out on a large area. The resort can be easily reached thanks to the coastal road bordering the Red Sea.The complex looks on to a large lagoon, at the end of which the reef ends. A long pier leads to the point in which the sea is deeper.The lagoon is very low in depth, about 40 cm. Consequently; this could affect its attractiveness. An authorization to excavate into the lagoon in order to improve tourism development has been asked to the Ministry of the Environment.Tourist Complex :Area Buildings 1. Main building 2. Main building :• It is the first building – which is currently under construction, on which the reception, the restaurant, some shops and some rooms shall be laid out. Two large staircases lead to the first floor. • The ground floor shall consist of the reception, a restaurant and a theatre. • The first floor shall consist of a large hall and some shops. • The second floor shall consist of some rooms. • The gym and the well-being center shall be laid out on the north wing. • Some rooms shall be laid out on the south wing. • So far, the carrier elements and the main interior walls have been constructed. A part of the rooms of the south area have already been whitewashed and provided with windows. On the other hand, only works concerning foundations and columns have been completed in the well-being center area.Type of structure :Reinforced concrete foundations, reinforced concrete carrier elements, a flat roof made of concrete, sand, and covered with tiles. 2 : South building:It is the ideal extension to the main building. It consist of 71 rooms, Each room is provided with systems and equipment concerning electricity, telephone, television, smoke detectors, as well as wooden doors and aluminum windows.Type of structure :Reinforced concrete foundations, reinforced concrete carrier elements, a flat roof made of concrete, sand, batts and covered with tiles. Wooden doors, aluminum windows & ceramic tile flooring. 3 : North building :It consists mainly of rooms. Every room is provided with a small terrace. Furniture and finishing are the same as those used in the other part of the complex. The building is currently used. Type of structure :Reinforced concrete foundations, reinforced concrete carrier elements, a flat roof made of concrete, sand, and batts and covered with tiles. Aluminum windows and ceramic tile flooring. 4 : Bungalows Around the artificial lake, which two little bridges border made of masonry and fired bricks, there are four buildings on which rooms and suites are laid out. Only one of them differs from the others since it is characterized by a large swimming - pool on the terrace, and by some rooms temporarily used for offices on the ground floor. The direct access to the beach surrounding the artificial lake improves the attractiveness of the rooms laid out on these buildings. Wooden doors, aluminum windows & ceramic tile flooring.5 : Restaurant :The Building has one story and is provided with a large terrace. It accommodates the restaurant, a bar and the kitchens. It is lit by large windows and by a large central skylight. On the terrace there is another bar. Diving Club :The building is laid out on two levels. The ground floor is accommodating the reception and the bar until the building designed for such purposes is completed. A room for diving equipment is on the ground floor. The first floor consists of some rooms. Type of structure :Reinforced concrete foundations, reinforced concrete carrier elements. A flat roof made of concrete, sand and batts wooden doors and aluminum windows. Linoleum flooring.7. Detached Houses :There are six detached houses. Each of them is laid out on two levels and consists of: A large living room provided with cooking facilities, and two entrances on the ground floor. Three bedrooms provided with a bathroom each, and two small terraces on the First floor –it is possible to realize a kitchenette on this floor. The roof is almost completely used as terrace. Type of structure :Reinforced concrete foundations reinforced concrete carrier elements, a flat roof made of concrete, sand and batts. Wooden doors and aluminum windows. Ceramic tile flooring. Granite staircase provided with iron handrail.9. Services Center :Outside the complex, on the other side of the coastal road, four buildings laid out on three levels and designed for accommodating the staff are under construction. Only one of them is currently completed. Type of structure :Reinforced concrete foundations reinforced concrete carrier elements, a flat roof made of concrete, sand, and batts, wooden doors, aluminum windows &Ceramic tile flooring. Next to the staff accommodations, there are the technical rooms accommodating the desalination plant, some receivers, and the water treatment plant. There are some duty rooms for the staff, too.8. Shopping Center :Near the main entrance there is a two-storied building, which accommodate only, shops. Type of structure :Reinforced concrete foundations reinforced concrete carrier elements, a flat roof made of concrete, sand, and batts. Building systems :• Electrical system. • Conditioning system. • Central heating • Waterworks (water is obtained by desalinization). • Standpipe system.• Smoke detectors. • Telephone equipment. • Satellite master antenna television system. • Loudspeakers. • Land improvements :• Pedestrian paths to walk from one end to the other of the resort. • They are made of self-locking concrete elements. • Open spaces. • Masonry enclosure. • Secondary buildings designed for technical purposes. Sports facilities :• 2 tennis courts • 1 large swimming-pool (about 1500 sq. m.) and a "Jacuzzi" • Whirlpool bath. • 1 small swimming pool used only by the Diving Club. • FURTHER BUILDABLE LAND :The building area, which lies to the south of the tourist complex, is 125 meter long and 420 meter large. The total surface equals ( 52,353 m² ) sq. m. The area looks on to the part of lagoon characterized by the reef.
