Alexandria has witnessed a boom in the provision of housing units for\u00a0<\/span>free social housing projects<\/span><\/a>, as figures and statistics issued from Alexandria Governorate indicated that 13,392 apartments were provided from 2014 to 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most important housing projects in Alexandria<\/b><\/h2>\n

Bashayer Al-Khair project lies in Gheit El Enab district. It is the largest national project in Alexandria. It is also the first qualitative leap with the aim at developing slums and transforming them into civilized development areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The developers constructed 3 phases of the project so far. They contain all the main services (hospital, bank, shops, nursery, and educational garden). They also include humanitarian center for people with special abilities, and other important basic services. In addition, there are centers for developing the capabilities of citizens and teaching them professional crafts like trade and plumbing.<\/span><\/p>\n

New Borg El Arab project<\/b><\/h2>\n

New Borg El Arab<\/a>\u00a0lies in front of the industrial city in the west of Alexandria, which was established in three phases.<\/span><\/p>\n

The First phase encompasses 285 buildings with a total of 6,192 housing units.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Second phase: It includes the construction of 166 buildings, with a total of 2,984 housing units.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the third phase. It brings the total to the construction of 558 residential buildings with a total of 13,000 units.<\/span><\/p>\n

The housing unit is 90 square meters, and the units include all services and facilities. To clarify, it’s ready to live in.<\/span><\/p>\n

These units are made according to the allocation system; which means the priority of the reservation, not the lottery. The citizen gets the housing unit either by paying the full amount or by installments according to the banking conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other projects in Alexandria<\/b><\/h2>\n

Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities also announced other projects in Alexandria<\/a>. These projects include “Tosson Towers” that exists in\u00a0<\/span>Abu Qir<\/span><\/a>\u00a0area, and in the east of Alexandria. There are also towers at the Kilo\u00a0<\/span>26<\/b>\u00a0area and Umm Zoghio area, as well as west of Alexandria. These towers come with the aim of distributing apartments to low-income people.<\/span><\/p>\n

The areas of these units range between 63 m2 and 65 m2. The unit price is EGP 110,000 in Tosson Towers, and the sale price in each of the 26 km area and Umm Zoghio area is EGP 65,000 for the residential unit. The payment is divided into batches.<\/span><\/p>\n
