One of the oldest neighborhoods in Cairo that is well known for hosting many diverse religious sites and an unparalleled population density. The neighborhood is located in north of Cairo, and some of its residential houseses overlook the Nile. Shubra hosts many touristic and religious landmarks like: Khazendar mosque, Saint Treeza church, and Muhamed Ali palace. One of Shubra’s drawbacks is its growing population density and heavy traffic. The neighborhood offers mostly middle and economic residential units, some upscale areas, and many areas that can be categorized as slums. Shubra is close to the center of Cairo and it is very easy to access via public transportation or the following Metro stations (Saint Treeza, Rod Farag, Masara, Khalafawy).
