It is one of the most famous religious landmarks of Marsa Alam near Jabal al-Humaithra, south of the City. it is the place where the owner of the shrine, Abu al-Hasan al-Shazli, the sheikh of the Sufi sect al-Shazli, died on his way to perform the Hajj. The mosque and the mausoleum were built in his memory.
